Klacksun aims to be the voice of people who have experience of mental health issues and are currently using, or have used mental health services in Clackmannanshire or the NHS Forth Valley area.

Klacksun's role is to

INFORM those who use services about issues which may affect them;

RESPOND to opportunities for people who use mental health services to become involved in the development of the services they may use;

REPRESENT the interests of those who use services and,

HIGHLIGHT issues that concern people who use mental health services users in Clackmannanshire.

The Network's main objective is to empower people who use mental health services and to make them a full partner in their care.  Klacksun believes this is possible when people are given the opportunity to become involved in, and to influence, all aspects of their care.

What do we do?

Klacksun aims to provide a variety of opportunities for involvement; at a level folk feel comfortable with.  For example:

Klacksun meets monthly offering an opportunity to discuss issues affecting people who use mental health services.  We then consider how  best to raise these issues and with whom in a bid to achieve a positive outcome for all;

Klacksun members are involve with various voluntary and statutory services through meetings and working groups.  In this way, people have the opportunity to influence the services they use and the information they receive;

There are opportunities to work individually or as part of a team, highlighting areas of concern, as well as best practice, through the writing and editing of the Klacksun newsletter and the development and running of this websiteClick here for more.  Any level of computing or adminstrative skill is welcome.

Klacksun recognises and values ALL contributions made by those involved with, and in, mental health service provision.

What is more, it is free - and the biscuits aren't bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
