We respond to issues and opportunities in different ways.
Established groups: We have a number of established groups which meet across the local and Forth Valley area. These groups offer continued service user perspective into items that could affect services on our doorsteps.
Short term meetings: From time to time we will participate in discussion which runs to a timescale or for a season. These may be issues which lie out with the scope of our established groups or which are addressing a specific issue.
One off responses: Occasionally Klacksun is invited to offer a response or participation in a one off event. This may be to capture feedback from Klacksun members on a set item or to offer a response to a consultation.
Some of the groups Klacksun is currently involved with:
UNITY: The University of Stirling Service Users and Carers’ Group is organised in the School of Social Work. Unity was established in 2005 in recognition of the important contribution that people who use services have to make to social work education. Many of the group’s founder members continue to be involved along with people who have joined more recently.
Forth Valley User Carer Involvment Forum (FVUCIF)
The FVUCIF meets every six weeks; members from Klacksun, StUN (Stirling Users Network), FDAMH (Falkirk District Association for Mental Health), local carers' groups, advocacy groups and service representatives come together to work on local/regional issues concerning mental health and well-being.
